Options were recently appointed to excavate and install 356m of 90mm Water Main and 730m of Hv cable including all backfill, reinstatement and traffic management on the Wentworth Estate in Virginia Water. The job was programmed to take approximately 2 weeks, and as well as completing the work, disruption to golfing activities and residents on the world renowned Wentworth Golf Club Estate complex in Virginia Water, Surrey was to be kept to an absolute minimum.
Following the initial site and geotechnical surveys, Options recommended to the Client that a Directional Drill method be used for installation of both the Water Main and Hv Cabling. This recommendation was accepted and work was completed to a high standard in 10 days, 4 days ahead of the original planned 14 days. The method used meant the carbon footprint on the job was reduced, installation and completion of the works meant that disruption to the residents of the complex as well as the golf course was kept to an absolute minimum. As you can see from the photos, the job was completed to a high standard.

Feedback from the estate has been fantastic with James Periton, Estate Manager, Wentworth Estate saying “On behalf of the Estate Committee and Kenny from Wentworth Club I want to say how impressed (and relieved) that the works on Wentworth Drive went so well, thank you. We even managed to keep the course open and minimise disruption. All of you involved were very professional and equally important courteous to the residents/members. I did not receive a single complaint which for a job of this size including three-way lights is incredible.
A particular thank you goes to Mick who regularly kept me informed of progress, ensured the job progressed and smoothly as possible and made sure the reinstatement was faultless – even better in many places. I am very grateful.”
